Launching Desa Cantik 2025: Aeramo Village Strengthens Village-Level One Data Foundation

The event was attended by the Vice Regent of Nagekeo, Gonzalo Gratianus Muga Sada, the Head of BPS Nagekeo, Angela Regina Maria Wea, as well as local government officials and community leaders.

Desa Cantik is a national program initiated by BPS aimed at strengthening the capacity of village governments in managing statistical data to support more targeted development planning. Aeramo is the second village in Nagekeo selected for this program, following Podenura Village in 2024.

In his remarks, the Vice Regent emphasized the importance of Desa Cantik as a concrete step toward implementing the One Data Indonesia initiative at the village level. He also underlined the urgency of synchronizing population data updates throughout May 2025 to improve the quality of regional planning.

“Desa Cantik is not just a ceremonial event—it is a long-term strategy to build a strong data ecosystem at the village level. Data updating and the training of statistical agents must be taken seriously to ensure development is based on valid and up-to-date data,” said the Vice Regent.

The program will run for three months, involving three statistical agents from Aeramo Village and nine mentors from various institutions. The final target is to produce a Village in Figures: Aeramo 2025 publication. The initial focus of mentoring will be on data related to food security, farmer groups, housing, and MSMEs.

The Head of BPS Nagekeo stated that Desa Cantik is part of the statistical transformation agenda that reaches the grassroots level.
“We want villages to become data producers, not just users. Through strong collaboration, we can generate high-quality and competitive data,” said Angela Wea.

Also in attendance were the Heads of the Communication and Information Office, the Civil Registry Office, the Aesesa Subdistrict Head, the Village Head of Aeramo, and representatives from local leadership bodies and the community.
